Apartment 180 m2
In the heart of the popular 16th arrondissement of Paris, a 180 m Haussmann apartment2 has undergone a complete rehabilitation, meeting the expectations of a dynamic couple and their two young children. If the generous volumes and period moldings give an undeniable charm to this property, its position on the second floor immediately raised the crucial question of brightness.
In-depth renovation and spatial restructuring
The stakes were high: the apartment having not seen any major intervention for almost forty years, a total overhaul of the distribution was necessary to align with contemporary requirements. The program was ambitious: move the kitchen closer to the reception areas, create a bathroom and toilet dedicated to children, and completely redesign the main bathroom. The nerve center of this restructuring was the need to open a major load-bearing wall, thus making it possible to harmoniously merge the future kitchen and the dining room. A structural project which required careful coordination and obtaining authorizations from the co-ownership, which were issued after several technical visits by the architect of the building.
